2011 Summer Camp Information

The much anticipated 2011 summer camp schedule is here! There are limited spaces in each camp so I am asking those who are interested to email me at skeeter@powerline-softball.com and I'll send you a registration form. I need to control my numbers as it's really important to me that these camps are run at a high level with the girls getting a ton of work and instruction. Please pass this flyer along to your teams and anyone else that may be interested and thank you for all of your support! See you at camp!

2010 Summer Recap

WOW what a busy summer it has been for Powerline Softball! Thank you to everyone for your continued support of what I do each and every day. It has been so humbling to hear about the successes of my students from different parts of the Tampa Bay area, different parts of Florida, and from different parts of the country this summer. I appreciate everyone being so supportive, and at times flexible, as I went through my first summer season with my daughter Hope. I have much to learn about being a new mom and balancing my career, but I have many wonderful mentors that have been instrumental in helping me along the way. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!

Here is a Recap of this summer's events:

June

The first general skills camp of the summer was awesome as we focused more than ever on teaching the game. This year's summer camp cut out all the afternoon activities from past camps and focused more on the serious softball athlete. Man was it fun to come to camp each day knowing how hard those kids worked without a single complaint about the heat!

June also saw several new Powerline Athletes beginning lessons both for hitting and defense. The response and changes thus far have been awesome and I'm excited to watch their continued development.

July

The month of July was packed with three different camps and the nationally televised Under Armour All America Game. We started off with the Powerline Hitting Camp in early July, which was a big success! I saw lots of good things from that Camp and will be doing more Hitting camps in the near future.

The second camp of July was a general skills camp that I partnered with Patton Softball to pull off. We had another great group of campers that despite the VERY HOT temperatures worked hard and got better each and every day. Thanks ladies for the great attitudes and memories.

Next in July came the Under Armour All America Game televised on ESPNU. This event had me coaching the Top 30 High School Athletes in the country over a three day event. I was the head coach of the winning team, Team Rally, along with my assistant coach Nikole Eaton. Team Hype was coached by Olympian Leah O'Brien-Amico and assisted by Mary Patton. The athletes are chosen by ESPN The Rise Magazine and over the three day event we put them through their paces both on and off the field. I enjoy this event so much and don't want to brag...but my team is 3-0 over the last three years at this event!!!

The last event in July was the Powerline Catching camp...oh how I Love My Catchers! We worked hard in the heat and occasionally in the rain but got some great work in. The catching clinic was highlighted by each camper receiving an Under Armour T-Shirt and this year's catcher of the week received a brand new Louisville Slugger catcher's mitt!! Thanks to Slugger and Under Armour for their long term commitment to what I do each and every day!

August

The last month of the summer is only half over as I write this update but has already seen three camps and over six new clients! The last general skills camp of the summer was run with Patton Softball and was a big hit. More record breaking temperatures but still lots of smiles, laughs and hard work to spread around...thanks ladies.

Week two of August had me running between two camps and lessons but was well worth the 14 hour days. The Tampa Bay Devil Rays camp was a great experience for all and has lead to three new clients for Powerline Softball. After the Rays camp I drove up to Clearwater for the Powerline College Prep Camp. This camp was for current college softball players and was designed to get their kinks worked out before the fall college season begins. Some of the colleges represented were; Florida Atlantic, FAMU, Central Arkansas, and Saint Leo. It's always great to work with my college players when they return for breaks. Best of luck ladies and keep me posted on how everything is going.

Wow, I'm tired just reliving all of that. Until next time...keep working hard and stay focused on what you want to achieve!
